From the sun-soaked coastlines to the heartland prairies, we’ve journeyed across nearly half the U.S., tasting all kinds of incredible flavors along the way. But no matter how delicious, something was always missing. Every time we dug into those familiar dishes—juicy momos, comforting chow mein, or crispy fried chicken sausages—they lacked that one essential thing: the bold, tangy punch of Kathmandu. The taste of home. The kind of flavors that took us back to our childhood meals in the Kathmandu Valley.
And it wasn’t just us. As we met other Nepali Americans across the country, we realized we weren’t alone in this longing. Everyone we talked to felt the same—a deep connection to home, sparked by the vibrant, spicy flavors of Nepali pickles.
